Zusammenfassung

Lingualtechnik bedeutet heutzutage viel mehr als ästhetische Apparaturen. Die effiziente und präzise planbare Umsetzung des gewünschten Behandlungs-Setups und die überzeugende Prophylaxe von Schmelzentkalkungen stellen positive Aspekte der Lingualtechnik dar.

Trotz dieser genannten Vorteile können sich Stolpersteine bei unerfahrener und unsachgemäßer Anwendung auftun, die nicht nur den Patientenkomfort, sondern auch das Vertrauen des Behandlers und des Patienten für diese techniksensitive Apparatur beeinträchtigen können. Voraussetzung für den Erfolg ist die richtige Auswahl und Handhabung des lingualen Systems.

Mit der fachgemäßen Anwendung können der Komfort des Patienten erhöht und konsekutiv „Notfalltermine“ vermieden werden.

Abstract

Nowadays lingual technique signifies much more than just aesthetic appliances. The precise and predictable realization of the planned treatment setup and the convincing prophylaxis of white spot lesions are other positive aspects of the lingual technique.

Despite these advantages mentioned, inexperienced and improper use can lead to problems that could not only affect patients’ comfort but also the practioners’ and patients’ trust for this technique.

Success for lingual treatments requires the proper selection and use of the lingual system, furthermore preventing discomfort and emergency appointments.
