Zusammenfassung

Die in enger Kooperation von medizinisch-theoretischen (Anatomie, Physiologie) und ingenieurwissen-schaftlichen (Aerodynamisches Institut) Disziplinen an der RWTH Aachen erarbeiteten Befunde zeigen, daß nur jeweils ein verschwindend kleiner Anteil von Plättchen (und anderen Blutzellen) im alternden bzw. atherosklerotisch vorgeschädigten Kreislauf Bereiche kritischer Strömungskräfte durchläuft, von denen wiederum nur ein geringer Prozentsatz irreversibel geschädigt wird. Obwohl dieses Trauma grundsätzlich einen auslösenden Reiz auf das Hämo-stasesystem darstellt, erfordern die nachgeschalteten zellbiologischen und biochemischen Verstärkerschritte gänzlich andere fluiddynamische Bedingungen, als sie in schneller, ungestörter Rohrströmung gegeben sind. Die Manifestation und Lokalisation des Thrombus scheint von fluiddyna-misch abgeschlossenen Rezirkula-tionsgebieten bestimmt zu sein.
