Summary
A rapid and simple turbidimetric determination of fibrinogen degradation products
is described. This method is based on the increase of the turbidity due to the formation
of precipitating antigen-antibody complexes after addition of rabbit antihuman fibrinogen
antiserum to human serum. The increase in turbidity correlates very well with results
obtained with the haemagglutination inhibition technique and has the advantage of
a more objective quantitation. The reproducibility appears to be quite good. The turbidimetric
method is independent of the colour of serum samples.
