In allen Wissenschaften tritt das Problem auf, große Mengen von Dingen übersichtlich
zu ordnen, so daß nach einem einfachen Verfahren jedes gewünschte Ding zuverlässig
und schnell herausgefunden werden kann. Diese Aufgabe hat zur Entwicklung von Theorie
und Praxis der1 Systematisierung und Klassifizierung geführt. Über einige allgemeine Prinzipien für
Klassifizierungen wird hier berichtet. Diese Prinzipien werden am Beispiel der Klassifizierung
von Krankheitstypen erläutert. Zusätzliche Bedingungen für das Krankheitstypenschema
ergeben sich daraus, daß es dem Arzt als Hilfsmittel für die Diagnose dienen soll.
All branches of science are confronted with the problem to order large numbers of
things in a well arranged manner, so that everything can be found quickly arid reliably.
This task has led to the development of theory and practice of systeroatization and
classification. The author reports about some principles of classification, using
the classification of types of diseases as an example. Additional conditions for the
scheme of types of diseases result from the intention that it should serve as an aid
to diagnosis for the physician.
