An Interpreter for the Easy Creation of Graphic Displays of Experimental Data

The graphic interpreter INSTANT PLOT describes a system for the easy creation and manipulation of graphic displays of experimental data. It is controlled by a command language. Commands are interpreted and executed immediately. The interpreter is based on the TEKTRONIX PLOT-10 software. The input can be entered via the usual alphanumeric terminals or via a TEKTRONIX terminal. The output can be directed to a graphic terminal or a plotter. If an interactive TEKTRONIX terminal is used, the commands immediately result in a graphic output. This feature also makes the system attractive for educational purposes.

Der graphische Interpreter INSTANT PLOT dient der leichten Erstellung und Manipulation der graphischen Darstellung von Versuchsdaten. Das System wird durch eine Kommandosprache gesteuert. Die Befehle werden interpretiert und sofort ausgeführt. Dem Interpreter liegt die TEKTRONIX PLOT-10 Software zugrunde. Die Eingabe kann an einem normalen alphanumerischen Bildschirm oder an einem TEKTRONIX Terminal erfolgen. Die Ausgabe kann auf ein graphisches Terminal oder einen Plotter gesteuert werden. Wenn ein interaktives graphisches Terminal benutzt wird, erzeugen die Befehle unmittelbar eine graphische Darstellung. Diese Eigenschaft macht die Sprache auch für Schulungszwecke attraktiv.
