Polycystic ovarian disease arises due to benign cystic growths in the ovary of women. Signs and symptoms of PCOS include irregular or no menstrual periods, heavy periods, excess body and facial hair, acne, pelvic pain, difficulty getting pregnant, and patches of thick, darker, velvety skin. Diagnosis is based on two of the following three findings: no ovulation, high androgen levels, and ovarian cysts. Cysts may be detectable by ultrasound. PCOS has no known cure. There is a hormonal disbalance due to androgen production.

Objective:

Patients with ovarian cyst are usually treated by hormone therapy and some homeopaths also claim its treatment by homeopathic remedies. My experience as a homeopath in treating ovarian cyst of patients aging from 18yrs to 25yrs. More than 15 cases were treated of which 8 cases were of the calcarea carbonica constitution.

Introduction:

Homeopathic remedies when prescribed after individualization, should heal the root cause acting on the mental and physical plane of patients, possibly causing reversal of hormonal imbalance and regression of ovarian cysts.

Result:

Calcarea carbonica, when given on the grounds of mental and physical symptoms, shows good results, improving the patients menses regularly. One married woman even got pregnant, others had a regression in the size of cysts. Most of the patients of ovarian cycts had a calcarea carbonica constitution.
