Bei Frauen mit chronischer interstitieller Zystitis bzw. Painful Bladder Syndrome (IC / PBS) kann die Ernährung ein Rolle bei der Symptomatik und der Therapie spielen. Die chronische Prostatitis bzw. das chronische Beckenschmerzsyndrom von Männern zeigt klinische und pathophysiologische Überlappungen mit der interstitiellen Zystitis, aber zum Thema Ernährung ist dabei bislang wenig bekannt. Eine Gruppe von US-amerikanischen Medizinern hat sich nun des Themas angenommen.
