Zusammenfassung

Der Arnold-Rikli-Preis für photobiologische Forschung wird von der „Light Symposium Foundation“ seit 1989 ausgebracht und gefördert. Hervorragende Forscher auf dem Gebiet der biopositiven und bionegativen Effekte optischer Strahlung werden damit geehrt. Im Zeitraum von 1989 – 2001 wurden 7 Preise vergeben; jeweils anlässlich eines speziell ausgerichteten Symposiums über „Biologic Effects of Light“. Eine rhythmische Tradition wurde gefunden im Wechsel mit der Region Basel in der Schweiz und Atlanta in Georgia USA, zuletzt 2001 in Boston.

Seit 2006 wurden weitere 8 Preise an hervorragende Forscher vergeben, jetzt anlässlich auserlesener Symposia der Photobiologie mit speziellem Bezug zur Humanmedizin. Der Arnold-Rikli-Preis hat sich einen besonderen Namen erworben und ist hochgeschätzt im Rahmen der Photobiologie. Glücklicherweise wurde die Entscheidung getroffen, diesen zu stärken und auf dem erfolgreichen Weg fortzuführen.

Abstract

The Arnold Rikli Award for photobiologic research is sponsored by the “Light Symposium Foundation” since 1989. Outstanding researchers in the field of biopositive and bionegative effects of optical radiation are awarded, 7 times from 1989 – 2001 together with a special symposium on “Biologic Effects of Light”. A rhythmic biennial tradition was found, alternating between the Basel region in Switzerland and Atlanta in Georgia USA, and lastly 2001 in Boston. Since 2006 another 7 awards are contributed to excellent researchers at the occasion of selected symposia in the wide field of photobiology in relation to humans. The Arnold Rikli Award is highly estimated in its special research field and decision is made for its continuation, to pursue its prominent way of success.
