Application Protocols for the Use of Rotational Angiography (3DRA) in Congenital Heart Disease
Objective: To propose dedicated application protocols for 3D visualization of CHD with 3DRA.
Method: In the past 3 years, more than 300 3DRA performed in CHD. Out of them application, reports were created for various issues based on the achieved image quality (rated 5-point scale). Out of the high rated interventions, amount and concentration of contrast dye, X-ray delay, and injection place are analyzed.
Results: Application protocols for (1) Norwood 1, (2) aorta, (3) pulmonary artery, (4) pulmonary veins, (5) partial and (6) total cavopulmonary connection, (7) semilunar valves, and (8) atrial baffles were generated (e.g., Norwood 1: free breathing, no pacing. 4F pigtail right ventricular apex. X-ray delay 1.3 s. Iopamidol 350: 2.1 mL/kg diluted with equal part of saline).

Conclusion: Superior informative value to conventional biplane angiography by using the presented protocols in more than 90%.
