Zusammenfassung

Eupatorium perfoliatum L. (Asteraceae) ist eine in Nordamerika beheimatete Arzneipflanze, wobei das getrocknete Kraut traditionell durch die Ureinwohner und späteren Siedler gegen Malaria, fieberhafte Erkrankungen und rheumatische Beschwerden eingesetzt wurde. Im Rahmen einer vertiefenden phytochemischen und präklinischen Untersuchung der Pflanze wurde ein breites Spektrum an sekundären Inhaltsstoffen, insbesondere das ätherische Öl, die Fraktion der Kaffeesäurederivate, das Flavonoidmuster, die Sesquiterpenlactone sowie die Triterpenfraktion untersucht und ICH-validierte analytische HPLC-Methoden zur Qualitätskontrolle erarbeitet. Die Gehalte analytischer Leitsubstanzen über den Jahresverlauf sowie die Verteilung des Sekundärstoffmusters in den einzelnen oberirdischen Pflanzenteilen werden beschrieben. Präklinische Untersuchungen ergeben Belege für antiinflammatorische Effekte ethanolischer Extrakte, die auf das Flavonoid Eupafolin sowie bestimmte Sesquiterpenlactone zurückgeführt werden können. Weiterhin konnten antiplasmodiale Wirkungen eines lipophilen Extraktes sowie eines dimeren Guajanolides gezeigt werden. Diese pharmakologischen Effekte stehen in guter Übereinstimmung mit der traditionellen Verwendung der Pflanze. Insbesondere die antiinflammatorischen Effekte korrelieren gut mit der klinischen Anwendung ethanolischer Extrakte der Krautdroge bei Erkältungskrankheiten, Rheumatismus und Arthritis.
