Significance

The Rh-catalyzed 1,4-addition of arylboronic acids to unsaturated ketones is an important method for the enantioselective construction of C-C bonds. In this report, electron-deficient phosphine ligands were found to be particularly effective, tolerating a wide variety of substrates with excellent enantioselectivity.
