The French Society of Digestive Endoscopy (SFED) is proud to present here the Abstracts selected for the French Annual meeting of Digestive Diseases (JFHOD). These abstracts will be presented as oral communications and posters. The material consists of all the fields of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, and also includes advanced endoscopy such as therapeutic endoscopic ultrasonography, submucosal dissection or NOTES. A total of more than 600 authors belonging either to National French Society (SNFGE) or to the 1150 members of the SFED have participated in this research effort, leading to the publication of 72 abstracts. Meanwhile, French gastroenterologists, who account for a total number of 3159 practitioners, are participating increasingly in a European endevour to build a participation in research and training for digestive diseases. This was clearly seen in November, France being the forth country for the selected abstracts for UEGW in Barcelona 2010. The SFED is actively working andorganizing the two main Francophone meetings held in France each year, the former being the JFHOD taking place in March in Paris, the latter being Videodigest, held in October. Therefore, French endoscopists are looking forward with a great interest to the next JFHOD which will bring together more than four thousand francophone gastroenterologists.
