Significance

A new synthesis of stable ortho-boropinacolato aryl and heteroaryl sulfonamides by directed ortho-metalation is described. The products can be cross-coupled with (hetero)aromatic bromides and chlorides in a one-pot reaction to yield various biaryls and heterobiaryls.
