Significance
N-2-Aryl-1,2,3-triazoles (NATs) are good candidates for UV/blue-light-emitting molecules based on the coplanar geometry of the triazole ring and aryl group. After screening substituent groups on NATs, the authors demonstrated the tunability of fluorophores in terms of fluorescence intensity and emission wavelength. An amino acid modified NAT (1) was synthesized without fluorescence quenching, which indicates a potential application of NATs as biomolecular probes.
