Significance

CuFe2O4 nanoparticles (particle size: 15-20 nm) catalyzed the N-arylation of nitrogen heterocycles 1 with aryl halides 2 to give the corresponding N-arylation products 3 in up to 98% yield (21 examples). In the reaction of pyrrole with bromobenzene, the catalyst was magnetically separated from the reaction mixture and reused twice without loss of its catalytic activity (1st reuse: 96% yield, 2nd reuse: 96% yield).
