Significance

Guanacastepenes N and O belong to a family of diterpenes, isolated in 2001. They exhibit antibiotic activity and consist of an unpre­cedented tricyclic carbon skeleton and five stereogenic centers. Guanacastepenes N and O are epimeric at C13.
