Significance

4-Aminopropenylidene indolone chromophores with a flexible substitution pattern are obtained in a one-pot reaction in excellent yields. The three-component approach proceeds in a consecutive carbopalladation, Sonogashira coupling, and Michael-type addition sequence. The protocol shows a broad scope of aryl substituents and secondary amine components.
