Synthesis of (+)-Norsecurinine

Significance

(+)-Norsecurinine belongs to the Securinega alkaloid series isolated from the plant family Euphorbiaceae. These compounds exhibit a broad spectrum of biological activities and contain synthetically challenging indolizidine or pyrrolizidine motifs. An enantioselective synthesis of (+)-norsecurinine is described.
