Significance

The authors have developed a highly efficient asymmetric iridium-catalyzed allylic amination of N-tosyl propynylamines with excellent regio- and enantioselectivities. The subsequent platinum-catalyzed cycloisomerization of the chiral allylic amine 1 lead to enantioenriched 3-azabicyclo[4.1.0]heptenes 2 and 3-azabicyclo-[3.2.0]heptenes 3. Both frameworks are found in biologically important compounds.
