Significance

A palladium catalyst supported by iron/iron oxide core-shell nanoparticles (Fe@FexOy/Pd) was prepared by mixing iron/iron oxide core-shell nanoparticles, Pd(NO3)2, and aqueous KOH. Fe@FexOy/Pd catalyzed the Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling of arylhalides 1 with arylboronic acids 2 in the presence of potassium carbonate to give the corresponding biaryls 3 up to 99% yield.
