Significance

A novel method featuring palladium-catalyzed C-H cleavage and cross-coupling of 1,3-oxazoles with air-stable and nongenotoxic aryl sulfamates (reported as electrophiles in cross-couplings by Albaneze-Walker et al. Org. Lett. 2009, 11, 1463) and the easily accessible alkenyl and benzyl phosphates is reported. A combination of Pd(OAc)2 and 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)-ethane (dppe) was found to be the most efficient catalyst system.
