Significance
A novel decarboxylative C-H arylation has been developed featuring the intermolecular coupling of two azole heteroarenes. No significant prefunctionalization is necessary and the bis(azole) products are obtained in good yields. This procedure is a valuable tool for the synthesis of bioactive natural products, pharmaceuticals or functional materials, since organometallic reagents required in classic cross-couplings are difficult to prepare at certain positions on the azole ring.
