Significance

A simple catalytic method for amination of arylzinc compounds by N-chloroamines is reported. Acyclic and cyclic chloroamines are effective amination agents in this reaction. Various arylzinc derivatives can be used. A convenient procedure for the one-pot chlorination with N-chlorosuccinimide (NCS) and amination has also been developed.
