Das prä-, peri- und postnatale Management der Ösophagusatresie stellt hohe Anforderungen an die Perinatalmedizin. Oft lässt sich diese seltene Fehlbildung präpartal nicht sicher diagnostizieren. Nach der Entbindung sind eine rasche Diagnostik und Therapie wichtig, um durch Vermeidung einer Aspirationspneumonie ein gutes „Outcome” für das Neugeborene zu erzielen. Damit ist die Ösophagusatresie ein gutes Beispiel für die Wichtigkeit einer eingespielten interdisziplinären Zusammenarbeit in einem Perinatalzentrum.
