Gastroduodenal Candidiasis Occurring without Underlying Diseases (Primary Gastroduodenal Candidiasis): Report on two Cases

Summary

Two cases of primary and isolated gastroduodenal candidiasis are described. The diagnosis of the mycotic infection was based on the discovery of hyphae in the biopsy obtained through the gastro-scope (Olympus GIF-K). Clinical, endoscopic and histologic appearances are discussed.

Es werden zwei Fälle von primärer und isolierter gastroduodenaler Candidiasis beschrieben. Die Diagnose der mykotischen Infektion beruhte auf der Entdeckung von Hyphen in der mittels Gastroskop (Olympus GIF-K) vorgenommenen Biopsie. Die klinischen, endoskopischen und histologischen Aspekte werden diskutiert.
