Summary
The development of a gastric ulcer following gastroscopic polypectomy is reported. The ulcer healed in typical fashion, forming a star-shaped scar and fibrosis of the tunica propria. Because of the possibility of such an ulcer formation, it seems advisable to start a peptic ulcer-therapy after gastroscopic polypectomy. This new method of endoscopic polypectomy seems to have its risk - like all effective therapy.
