Summary
Clinical and paraclinical aspects of the evolution of 39 cases of choroid plexus papillomas
are discussed within a review of the literature. Eighteen were papillomas of the lateral,
3 were papillomas of the third and 17 was a papilloma of the fourth ventricle while
another a papilloma of the cerebello-pontine angle. Even at the height of the illness
the clinical picture in uncharacteristic. Ventriculography is still the most helpful
paraclinical investigation for diagnostic purposes. Hydrocephalus, whatever its variant,
occurs habitually. Treatment consists in as complete as possible a removal of the
tumour, despite the difficulties involved by surgery in such cases.
Zusammenfassung
Klinische und paraklinische Gesichtspunkte bei 39 Fällen mit Plexuspapillom werden
unter Berücksichtigung der Literatur besprochen. 18 davon waren Papillome des lateralen,
3 des dritten und 17 des vierten Ventrikels, während ein weiteres im Kleinhirnbrückenwinkel
lokalisiert war.
Das klinische Bild war auf dem Höhepunkt gewöhnlich wenig charakteristisch. Die Ventrikulographie
ist die wesentlichste paraklinische Untersuchungsmethode, um zur Diagnose zu kommen.
Der Hydrocephalus in seinen verschiedenen Varianten ist gewöhnlich vorhanden. Die
Behandlung besteht in soweit wie möglicher vollständiger Entfernung des Tumors, obwohl
in diesen Fällen technische Schwierigkeiten bestehen.

Aspects cliniques et paracliniques de l'évolution de 39 cas de papillomes des plexus
choroïdes, et leur discussion à la lumière de la littérature. Leur répartition: 18
du ventricule latéral, 3 du 3ème ventricule, et respectivement 17 pour le 4ème ventricule
et l'angle ponto-cérébellaux. A l'acmé de leur évolution le tableau clinique en était
peu caractéristique. La ventriculographie est l'examen le plus effectif pour le diagnostic.
L'hydrocéphalie est habituellement présente, sous quelque variante que ce soit. Le
traitement consiste en une ablation aussi complète que possible de la tumeur, malgré
les difficultés qui dans de tels cas obèrent l'intervention.
