Significance
(+)-Cermizine is an alkaloid isolated from a club moss of the Lycopodium genus. It showed some cytotoxicity against murine lymphoma L1210 cells. The synthesis features: (1) organocatalytic α-amination (A → C) and (2) asymmetric amino allylation (G → I) (for transfer amino-allylation see: M. Sugiura, C. Mori, S. Kobayashi J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2006, 128, 11038).
