Significance
An amphiphilic resin-supported phosphine-ruthenium complex 1 (0.23 mmol Ru/g) was prepared by treatment of PS-PEG resin-supported triarylphosphine with [RuCp*Cl2]2 (eq. 1). The Kharasch reaction of various olefines 2 with CCl4 took place in the presence of 0.33-1.0 mol% Ru of catalyst 1 in water to give the corresponding products 4a-i in 36-92% yield (eq. 2).
