Introduction

Mittendorf dot represents the ending spot of the hyaloid artery, where it reaches the posterior part of the lens during embryological development. Isolated Mittendorf dot is one of the most common and harmless congenital anomalies of the eye and is not expected to interfere with visual functions. This congenital anomaly is a small but characteristic part of persistent fetal vasculature syndrome along with persistent Cloquet’s canal [1].
