Introduction

The use of foldable intraocular lenses (IOLs), which can be implanted through relatively small size injectors, has become a widely used standard technique of cataract surgery. It seems that the technology of lens folding and delivery through small gauge shooters has progressed nearly to the status of perfection, as can be concluded from the fact that only very few reports on technical problems or damage of lenses or injectors were published in recent years. This case report describes the rare observation of partial haptic loss encountered during injection of a hydrophilic IOL.
