Mihai Ciocîrlan et al. Monitored needle acceleration in endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration of solid pancreatic masses improves sample quality and diagnostic accuracy: a randomized trial

The impact of monitored needle acceleration during EUS-guided fine-needle aspiration was assessed in this study of 51 patients with solid pancreatic masses. Fast passes were associated with improved levels of diagnostic accuracy and a higher frequency of adequate quality scores compared with slow passes, with no difference in the cellularity scores between the two groups.
