Calvin Jianyi Koh et al. Defining the endoscopic ultrasound features of chronic pancreatitis in Asians: a multicenter validation study

Six endoscopic ultrasound features of chronic pancreatitis with good interobserver reliability were evaluated prospectively at 12 Asian centers in this study of 132 patients with chronic pancreatitis and 152 controls. The presence of two or more of the features (hyperechoic foci with shadowing, lobularity with honeycombing, cysts, dilated main pancreatic duct, dilated side branches, and calculi in the main pancreatic duct) had 94.7 % sensitivity and 98 % specificity for the diagnosis of chronic pancreatitis.
