Rückgang der Spermienqualität: Umweltmedizinische Ursachen

Summary

Die abnehmende Spermienqualität der letzten Jahrzehnte hat dazu geführt, dass die Normwerte für das Spermiogramm herabgesetzt wurden. Die inzwischen recht umfangreiche Forschung legt den Schluss nahe, dass diverse Umweltfaktoren zur abnehmenden Spermienqualität zumindest beitragen. Dazu zählen u. a. Schwermetall- und Arsenbelastungen, der Einsatz von Glyphosat und Pestiziden in der Landwirtschaft, die Verwendung von Bisphenyl A in Verpackungen. Aber auch elektromagnetische Felder niederer Intensität, denen praktisch jeder ausgesetzt ist, z. B. durch Mobilfunk, Laptop- und WLAN-Nutzung werden diskutiert.

Im Beitrag wird die aktuelle Datenlage zu den aufgrund der weiten Verbreitung wichtigsten umweltmedizinischen Faktoren für Spermienschäden zusammengefasst.
