ABSTRACT

Phytotherapy in Vietnam

Phytotherapy is part of the treatment of patients at all levels of the health system in Vietnam; especially for treating inflammation and pain as well as metabolic syndrome. Due to the high deductible amount, the proportion of self-medication with phytopharmaceuticals and dietary supplements is very high. For many years, the Vietnamese state has been promoting the cultivation of medicinal plants and the subsequent development of related products. As a result, phytotherapy has grown into an important factor in the economy.
