Significance

Malbrancheamide B was extracted from the fungus Malbranchea aurantiaca. A related compound, malbrancheamide A, is a calmo­diulin inhibitor. A focal step of this very concise synthesis is the TMSOTf-promoted cyclization of F proceeding through an acyliminium cascade cyclization.
