Significance

The authors reported the synthesis of the trehalose-based cyclodextrin analogue 6 and its equivalent with two disaccharide subunits. The key step, the coupling of the diamine 4 and the pseudotetrasaccharide 3, yielded 76% of the C 3-symmetric pseudocyclohexasaccharide adduct.
