Significance

Rhodium-DuPhos complex catalyzed intramolecular [2+2+2] cycloaddition of nitrogen-branched triynes was reported. Good yields and excellent ee values were obtained for a number of 1,2,4-trisubstituted benzene products. A hetero-[2+2+2] cycloaddition of a diyne-nitrile substrate was also achieved with rhodium-BINAP catalyst to give the pyridinophane product with high ee.
