Significance

Nickel metal-organic frameworks (Ni-MOF) supported silver nanoparticles were prepared by mixing silver nitrate and Ni-MOF, followed by treatment with urotropine (eq. 1). The nanoparticles catalyzed the A³ coupling of aldehydes, amines, and alkynes in MeCN to afford the corresponding propargylamines in 75-95% yield (eq. 2, 25 examples). In the coupling of formaldehyde, diethylamine, and phenylacetylene, the catalyst was recycled four times without significant loss of catalytic activity (4th recycling run: 93% yield).
