THE CHEMISTRY OF RHUS STRIATA („MANZANILLO”)
Publikationsverlauf
Publikationsdatum:
15. Januar 2009 (online)
Summary
The toxic principle of Rhus striata („manzanillo”) possesses the carbon skeleton of 3–pentadecylcatechol and an olefinic unsaturation. On the basis of spectroscopic evidence (UV, IR, NMR, and mass spectrum) it has been shown to be a mixture of components, 3–pentadecylcatechol (ca. 7 %), 1,2–dihydroxy–3–(pentadecenyl–8')–benzene (ca. 50 %), 1,2–dihydroxy–3–(pentadecadienyl–8',11')–benzene (ca. 23 %), and 1,2–dihydroxy–3–(pentadecatrienyl–8',11')14')–benzene (ca. 20 %).
