Significance

The Hall group has continued its excellent studies on allylation chemistry. In this paper they describe the catalytic enantioselective preparation of chiral allylboronates, which can be used in situ for the allylation of aldehydes with high enantioselectivities. The use of a Cu-phosphor­amidite catalyst system in conjuction with allylic chloride and EtMgBr substrates generates the desired reagent.
