Oxygenated C15 Polyacetylenes from Oenanthe aquatica Fruits

Abstract

A series of C15 oxygenated polyacetylenes, including three new compounds 2-trans-8-cis-10-trans-2,8,10-pentadecatriene-4,6-diyne-12-ol, 2-trans-8-cis-10-trans-2,8,10-pentadecatriene-4,6-diyne-12-one and 2-(trans-2-pentadecaene-4,6-diyne-10-one, were isolated from fruits of Oenanthe aquatica L., a plant used in the past in popular medicine. These substances were structurally identified through their spectral properties. All of them fit into the last step of the biosynthetic pathway which is generally accepted for these compounds.
