Significance

Bistramide A is a marine natural product isolated from the ascidian Lissoclinum bistratum. Two of the tetrahydropyran rings are synthesized using the [4+2] annulation of crotyl silane reagents while the C15-C16 stereocenters are installed with a chelation-controlled crotylation.
