Abstract

Phenomena like hypersensitivity to touch, hyposensitivity to taste and smell, and unusual tastes and smells appear to be non specific and anxiety-related. These findings have imcatons for the assessment of benzodiazepine withdrawal syndrome and emphasise the need to develop techniques to elicit perceptual phenomena.
