Zusammenfassung

Der prozentuale Anteil an Fettleibigen in der westlichen Gesellschaft nimmt rasant zu und erhöht deutlich das Gesundheitsrisiko dieser Teile der Bevölkerung. Es gilt als erwiesen, dass die morbide Adipositas auch einer genetischen Regulation unterliegt. Im Folgenden wird eine Übersicht des relevanten, bisher bekannten Wissens über die Genetik der Adipositas gegeben.

Abstract

The incidence of obesity rises rapidly in the western society. Additionally, obesity is associated with a markedly increased risk of morbidity and mortality. A genetic predisposition is proved in morbid obesity. The following manuscript shows a synopsis of relevant, so far established facts of the genetics of morbid obesity.
