In certain cases the [2,3]-Wittig sigmatropic rearrangement of distannyl- and silylstannyl-substituted diallyl ethers is followed by a spontaneous anionic oxy-Cope rearrangement; the two reactions can be cleanly separated if the conditions are carefully chosen.
