Silyl enol ethers 1 react under the influence of diethyl ether-boron trifluoride complex with silylated sulphides to afford a new and general access to a wide range of vinyl sulphides 2. When α,β-unsaturated ketones are used, a mild synthesis of 1,3-bis(phenylthio)propenes 6 is achieved.
