Oxidation of geraniol with monoperoxyphthalic acid in aqueous solutions of sodium hydrogen carbonate (pH = 8.3) and sodium hydroxide (pH = 12.5) gives regioselectively 6,7- and 2,3-epoxygeraniol in good and excellent yields, respectively.
