The metalation of homoallylsilane 1 (4-trimethylsilyl-1-butene) with butyllithium/potassium tert-butoxide followed by quenching with electrophiles (7 examples) leads under mild conditions and with satisfactory yield to a series of 3-substituted allylsilanes [(Z)-2-alkenyltrimethylsilanes].
