The Guest Editor of this issue of Seminars in Neurology is Dr. Anna M. Cervantes-Arslanian from Boston University School of Medicine.

Dr. Cervantes-Arslanian is an Assistant Professor of Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Infectious Disease at Boston University School of Medicine. She received her BS degree from The University of California, San Diego, followed by her MD degree from Tufts University School of Medicine. She was a resident in Neurology at Boston University Medical Center, as well as a chief resident. She has fellowship training in vascular neurology and neurocritical care and a longstanding interest in neuroinfectious disease. She serves as the Division chief for both neuroinfectious disease, as well as neurocritical care. She is a recognized leader in the field neuroinfectious disease, and is one of the most talented and bright rising stars in the field of neurology.

I was delighted when Dr. Cervantes-Arslanian agreed to guest-edit this issue devoted to “Neuroinfectious Disease,” which is a worldwide problem encompassing developing and developed countries alike. Dr. Cervantes-Arslanian and her authors have put together a comprehensive review in this issue of Seminars in Neurology, which is a true tour de force that will most certainly benefit neurologists and other clinicians worldwide. I do very much appreciate the efforts of Dr. Cervantes-Arslanian, as well as all of the contributing authors, for their marvelous work in this issue of Seminars in Neurology.
